FAQ Section

How much will I save using this method?

Imagine a wall 30 feet in length. Using the traditional method for wainscoting it would require a carpenter to use over 100 piece and one to two days to assemble. Using our product and methods there would be three panels taking a carpenter about 1 hour. It is labor saving by over 2/3 of the cost.

What is your product made of?

Churchill wainscot paneling is crafted from Glacier GreenTM Low Emission MDF. This 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fiber employs state-of-the-art EcoBind technology to meet a variety of current standards for low emissions including the Composite Panel Association (CPA) Environmentally Preferred Product Standard (0.2ppm or below) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase 1 ceilings.

How difficult is your product to install? Can I install it myself?

Churchill wainscot is engineered to require a minimum amount of site work during installation. We've designed our system with the Do-it-yourselfer in mind and to be user friendly. That being said, installing your wainscot will require common carpentry tools (saw, hammer, and nails) and minor cutting of some of the panels. A background in carpentry is recommended but not required.

How do I finish my wainscot once it's installed?

Our product is shipped and ready for installation. Following the assembly of the wainscot, finish all biscuit joints and butt corners and sand nail holes. Now it is ready for priming and any quality latex or oil base paint.

What if I need help measuring or ordering?

Just call us and we will walk you through the process. We always invite questions and comments throughout the process of ordering your wainscot and want to ensure that your paneling is ordered correctly.

What if my window casing isn't as thick as my wainscot?

There are several ways to do this. One is by adding a back band to the window. Another is by using a router you can round over the edge or bevel the edge.
